Nathalie Molina Niño elected to the Board of Directors
OAKLAND, Calif. – August 1, 2019 – Cadence Health, a mission-driven organization focused on women’s health OTC products, today announced the successful closing of its $13 million Series B financing including a $4.7 million convertible note. Social impact funds and family offices participated in the financing, with Templeton World Charities donating $1 million.
“We are thrilled to welcome several new mission-aligned investors who are passionate about our pursuit to bring the birth control pill over the counter, making it accessible for all women,” said Samantha Miller, Chief Operating Officer and co-Founder of Cadence Health. “We sincerely appreciate Templeton’s vote of confidence in our strategic plan and team, and we look forward to putting this capital to work immediately.”
In conjunction with the financing, Nathalie Molina Niño, president of O³ and an advisor to the company, will join the board of directors. The addition of Ms. Molina Niño brings the total number of board members to five.
Dr. Hosang continued, “We have been working with Nathalie for the last two years, and believe her knowledge, her commitment to women and their empowerment, and her deep connections within the women’s health community will be vital to our success as we bring the pill over the counter.”
“Cadence has all of the important pieces to enable women to make their own reproductive health decisions – the products, the people and the passion,” said Ms. Molina Niño. “I believe in their power to not only launch the birth control pill over-the-counter but also to build an efficient women’s health organization dedicated to better and empowered healthcare.”
